Madonna has found herself in hot water yet again over an Instagram post. Just two weeks after the controversial picture surfaced of son Rocco Ritchie, 13, holding a bottle of alcohol, the singer has involved her son in another controversial Instagram pic.
On Friday, Jan.17, the legendary singer posted a photo of her teenage son Rocco in the boxing ring, along with an offensive caption that included a racial slur. Multiple sources report that Madonna’s caption which has since been removed, referred to her son as the N-Word.
Followers quickly took notice, and let Madonna know exactly how they felt about her use of the racial slur. Shortly after that, the original caption which read, #disn—-a’ was deleted and replaced with, “Ok let me start this again. #get off my d*%k haters!”
While the apology wasn’t yet clear (or felt) in her edited caption, Madge’s sentiment toward critics was.
On Saturday, the singer issued a statement to Us Weekly, apologizing for her actions. She said,
“I am sorry is I offended anyone with my use of the N word on Instagram. It was not meant as a racial slur.. I am not a racist. There’s no way to defend the use of the word. It was all about intention.. It was used as a term of endearment toward my son who is white. I appreciate that it’s a provocative word and I apologize if it gave people the wrong impression. Forgive me.”
Pretty sure everyone just forgot about that bottle of Gin incident. What do you think- does Madonna’s apology seem genuine, or should she be allowed to say whatever she wants?
